Great food, great service. Here's a tip: go at 8pm and save yourself a wait, the wait can be long at times.

Nancy Lopez is AWESOME. I had my wedding here last May and I am so looking foward to eating here while visiting my parents. The food is fabulous! I offered the steak, salmon, pork chop or the marsala stuffed chicken breast. I had about 45 people there and everyone raved about the food. By far the best spot in the villages :).

The best restaurant in the area. Absolutely outstanding lunch &dinners. Some of the best soups that I have ever eaten. The steaks are from Harris Ranch and come highly recommended.

Casual elegant atmosphere delicious food. Excellent service. They take reservations and have a great 'rewards" program. When we want to have a special dinner celebration this is our place. A wonderful singing waiter can serenade a capella style. I look forward to their soups - mushroom or Red pepper gouda.

Even though there are over 70 restaurants in The Villages that can be reached via golf cart (plus many more for which you need to travel by car), Legacy is the place we go for special occasions. It can be pricey but it never disappoints.

I came here to meet my in laws who live in the Villages. I had sea food and it was absolutely amazing. It's right on the golf course and with an amazing view. Service was impeccable. I highly recommend this place if your in the area

To start with, I am an old guy living in the Villages, FL. Most old guys don't know about yelp or computers. We had a Christmas block party last night at the Legacy. We had about 30 other old people from our block. We had a separate room and a wonderful experience. The service was good, my wife's and my dinners were very good, and desert was fine for me although a little sweet for my wife. From the feedback from our neighbors, everyone had a great time and a good meal. If you have ever worked in the restaurant industry you know that getting 30 orders at once is a nightmare. The chefs got all of the meals out hot and tasting good. I have read the other reviews and most are from young visitors. If grandma and grandpa are happy, things are good. I am 60 years old and I was sitting next to my neighbors who have been married for 64 years. We had drinkers and non drinkers in our group and everyone was happy. If we were a small party I can imagine that the quality would have been even a step up. I was happy and recommend this restaurant; but I am just an old guy and the younger reviewers may wish they had this when they are finally retired!

I went to a wedding here last night and everything was spot on. The service was quick and friendly. The food was some of the best I've had in a while. I got glazed salmon. The boyfriend got the filet and said it was perfect. The crustless cheesecake was also phenomenal!

The Legacy is in the Nancy Lopez Golf and Country Club in The Villages and is open to the public (a reservation is a must). The decor is outstanding with a great view of the golf course. Nancy should be proud of this place. The lobster bisque is wonderful----lots of lobster chunks and a nice tasty kick. I also ordered the veal & wild mushroom meatloaf and it is the best meatloaf I have had in years---and the portion is hugh, really two meals if you want to make a meatloaf sandwich for lunch the next day. My wife ordered the Tuscan vegetable pasta with shrimp and it too was great. Mercedes, our wait person did an elegant job for a table of seven. One of the friends we were with ordered the lobster puffs and gave me a taste---they were excellent. I don't think you can go wrong here with any menu choice. All of us shared a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and it was a fitting conclusion to a great evening. We all left happy.

This place is a family favorite, we go here for my grandfathers birthday almost every year and we always have a good time. First thing is the atmosphere is excellent here, beautiful location and a lively happy hour. While I didn't particularly care you can get top shelf drinks half off. The martini I had was okay, it was some specalty martini that was supposed to be raspberry vodka and pineapple juice but there was absolutely no pineapple flavor. This place is definetly for the livelier older folks for happy hour. Dinner was excellent, our waiter was knowledgable and quick. We were a party of 9 and everyones dish was perfect. I had the hawaiian chicken for my meal with a salad that had a mango balsamic dressing that was simply amazing. I also had some of the lobster al-forno for an appetizer while it was small it was very good.

Been going to the Legacy since they opened in 2005. Never once disappointed with food or service but sometimes the entertainment is a bit weak, in my opinion. Monday is lobster night and it is melt in your mouth wonderful. This place is my wife's go to place for special occaisions because it is simply the best around. I am a steak lover and theirs' is the tenderest most flavorful around central Florida.

This is by far the best in-house Villages, Florida golf course restaurant. Although very busy during happy hour, we had a late dinner in the main dining room. The service was good and more on this latter but now on to the food: Blanco y Negro - A succulent eight ounce fillet served with a peppercorn demi glace. The meat was excellent, but there was a hint of bacon taste in the demi glace or perhaps the meat (if the meat was cooked on a grill that had bacon this could have embedded the taste). We asked the server if there was bacon or pork within the dish and he promptly reviewed the ingredients with management. Following his follow-up, management addressed us and noted there was no bacon whatsoever in the dish. Later, to our surprise, the chef comes out and reviewed the mechanics of the dish and confirmed there was no bacon. In any event, this slight taste hurt an otherwise excellent dish. The sides were excellent, including a unique home cut french fry. Rack of Spring Lamb - a generous serving of lamb that was cooked to perfection. No complaints and has been very consistent over the last several years. Tomato Salad Napolatina - a wonderful dish consisting of slices of ripe tomato layered with fresh buffalo Mozzarella then drizzled with balsamic vinegar. This was a great dish to share and was very enjoyable. Highly recommended. I would also recommend the lava cake dessert. It was warm, fresh and truly a delight. When in the Villages, swing your golf cart over to Legacy!

Visiting family who live in then Villages and went here to celebrate with dinner and drinks. Could not have picked a better place. Service was impeccable, ambiance was terrific, and food was 5-star. My wife had the filet and said it melted in her mouth. I had the very tasty lobster bisque followed by a delicious leg of lamb. Then creme brulee was the perfect ending to an absolutely wonderful and memorable dining experience.

My girlfriend and I were visiting from California and went here to celebrate her birthday. Excellent service from the moment we walked in. Our drinks at the bar were great and friendly, fun bartenders. Our server Jay? was exceptional. Our family ordered the stuffed sole, meatloaf, mahi mahi, and the lobster/filet combo. Everything was flavorful and the lobster melted in your mouth, best I ever had! The mahi mahi had a delicious mango sauce. However, the filet was not as tender as I have had, but delicious just the same. They brought a birthday dessert at the end as a final touch to a wonderful evening.

Oh la-la, I was definitely living the high-life this weekend. First high tea, and now dinner at a country club! I have to admit...although I had some misgivings, I definitely see the draw of The Villages...these retirees know how to LIVE! Evidently, Nancy Lopez is a famous golfer and either opened up this restaurant, or designed this golf course, or something. I sort of tuned out the moment I heard the word "golf". But either way, this country-club restaurant is simply breathtakingly beautiful with a great view of the golf-course and lakes, which is marvelous as one is dining at sunset. We arrive and there is a quick wait. My husband and I go to the bar to order some cocktails, while his parents are outside on the porch, enjoying the beautiful evening. Friday nights at 6pm is dance night at The Legacy, as there was a DJ spinning some great 50's and 60's tunes, as 60 and 70 year old men and women were freak dancing each other. Yes, you read that right. FREAK DANCING. For that scene alone, I automatically gave The Legacy another star. Seriously awesome (and yes, a little horrific. But mostly awesome). The long wrap-around porch had lots of little sitting areas, and before we were even halfway done enjoying our cocktails our table was ready. As my father-in-law asked to be seated away from the bar (and the music and dancing), we had a table in the back dining room, which offered a glorious view of the patio, golf course and lake beyond. While the menu had a decent selection of dishes, ranging from pasta, to fish, to duck to lamb, I have a personal theory that no matter how appetizing a dish may seem on the menu, when one is in unfamiliar territory, one should always order along the lines of the establishment's core business. So I ordered the ribeye, rare. Tender, juicy, my steak was delicious. I only wish I could say the same for the rest of the meals. My husband and mother-in-law order the duck, and my father-in-law orders the seafood special, with spinach and a baked potato instead of green beans and mashed potatoes. The ducks were so under-seasoned, overcooked and so dry that he could barely finish his meal. My mother-in-law got baby potatoes instead of mashed potatoes, while my father-in-law didn't get either his spinach nor his baked-potato, and his seafood special (shrimp scampi and grilled lobster) was rubbery and mushy. The only redeeming factor in this entire meal was the deliciously hot breadsticks, which everyone filled up on, as their meals were a mess. The service was rather rushed, and it was obvious that our server was overwhelmed as the side dishes were messed up. After taking our orders, he had to return to our table after 10 minutes to confirm our orders, which should have been our first sign that something was wrong. While our server seemed nice, it is clear that he had to manage too many tables at once. Needless to say, the meal was a huge disappointment, especially considering the cost. Under normal circumstances, I would have given The Legacy at the Nancy Lopez Country Club one star, but the freak-dancing seniors at the bar gave this place an extra star. I doubt if we will ever come back, which is unfortunate, as the building and the grounds were lovely and would have made this place the perfect spot for special dinners.

Nancy Lopez's personal touch in this restaurant aka "watering-hole" has long-since waned...Meaning, you get the same old-same old. So, whats the problem? Well, for starters, this restaurant is managed and staffed by "tweenagers"... twenty-somethings in management positions (mostly through osmosis) and minimally trained teenage servers. The result is your service, food and overall dining experience depends on their successes/failures during nocturnal mating rituals. More importantly, patrons have the idea that there is a chef on staff...there is NO CHEF (but Nancy doesn't mind charging you for YOUR PERCEPTION). The Lopez Legacy, has digressed to nothing more than a "watering-hole". The idea here is...grandma and grandpa won't complain after a couple of high-balls :o) The same "nothing fresh- frozen supplier-microwave-prepared stuff" is what you get here. Prices average $25+per person for this ho-hum eating experience and the fancy digs...Give Nancy Lopez's a pass.

I hoped for a lot more! When we arrived at 3:pm on a Sunday afternoon we found out instead of a late lunch we would have to wait an hour for a dinner seating to be started. We sat and had drinks waiting for dinner, not happy! When dinner service started we got seated in a porch setting overlooking some of the golf course and began being peppered with flies that finally left half way through dinner. We opened our menu's and I was shocked at the prices and I wasn't even paying. I ended up going with the waiter's suggestion of a Pork Chop marinated overnight in a lavender marinade served over a bead of apples and sauce. He recommended it cooked medium which I went with. The meal was one of the cheaper selections at $18.90. The waiter asked if we wanted a garden or caesar salad with our meal and having seen a note earlier that salads were $4. with an entree, I thought maybe I was mistaken so I asked for a garden salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette. It was a terrible salad with romaine lettuce and what looked like canned diced tomatoes. While waiting we enjoyed the soft breadsticks. When our dinners arrived the pork chop looked huge! It was served with mashed potatoes and zucchini that were really good. The pork chop however was overdone making it dry and I couldn't taste any marinade as it was almost flavorless. After salting it for taste it was so dry I couldn't eat anymore of it! The meal I had was a big disappointment and hated that someone paid that much for it and the salad was an extra $4. I don't understand the ratings for this place being so high!! The flies did find another place to go after a while.

One of the high-end fancy restaurants in the Villages. It serves up very traditional fare in a very traditional country club space. The service is friendly though they aren't really into talking about the food much here. The cranberry and walnut salad with blue cheese is a generous full portion and good to share. The tomato salad napolitano (essentially a caprese salad) was ok as the tomatoes were super cold and muted any flavours that were there. The Blanco y Negro is their 8 ounce fillet served with a peppercorn sauce was good though the sauce was a bit light in flavour. The rack of lamb was good but the mint jelly was not a fave of mine. The veggies were not very well seasoned. Plating is very blah as there were no real colours on the main and everything looked a bit drab. But the lava cake and the banana foster which was flambeed in front of you were both really great.

If you are going to visit a country club restaurant in The Villages, so far this is the one I've found to be the best. The servers are great (very patient as they are used to catering to an older clientele) and the food is pretty solid although nothing to write home about. The big gripe I had was with the drinks. I ordered their signature margarita and it tasted like mixer+sugar with tequilla, it just was not good. I rarely send things back, but I did with that drink and ended up just getting a reliable vodka tonic.

Prices average $25+per person for this ho-hum eating experience and the fancy digs...Give Nancy Lopez's a pass.
